It's always great to be able to get a night out with Claire (my wife), but even better when your nominated for an award. And not just any award, but 2023 Wedding DJ of the year.
The venue was the Europa Hotel, and we arrived shortly after 6pm with the awards ceremony starting around 7.30 - just enough time to get a catch-up with some old friends as we're waiting to head up to the grand ballroom.
27 Awards were up for grabs in total, ranging from my own category to photographer of the year and wedding venue of the year.
Unfortunately it wasn't my year this time, but I followed up last years win for "outstanding Wedding supplier of the year" with this years runner up prize - Highly Commended "Wedding DJ of the year".
This year voting stayed open right up until the week before the awards and played a greater influence in determining the overall winner for each category, so this one actually means more to me than my previous win. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who took the time to vote for me!
The voting is currently still open for the 2023 NI awards. This part is up to YOU. Without your votes, I won't make it through to the next stage - which will be judged by a panel, looking at things such customer reviews. To vote, simply visit www.gaz-entertainment.com/vote for the details and link you'll need.
Just arrived in, the hottest new wedding accessory. This vintage (70's) style GPO phone lets you record a custom voice message that automatically plays back when the handset is lifted. The guest can then leave a message, which is recorded and supplied to the newly weds on a USB stick.
This fun and quirky wedding accessory is simple to use, and suitable for guests of all ages.
I'm constantly looking at my setup in order to improve it, and a few exciting new light fixtures have just arrived in. Now begins the very tedious process of writing all my own programming which controls the lights during an event. Many weeks of preparation, setting up and testing goes on in the background before anything makes it first appearance live at an event.
Delighted to announce that I have won "Outstanding wedding supplier of the year" at the 2022 NI Wedding awards! With so many votes from all my customers, and all the comments that influenced my nomination into this category, this one means a lot!
I can't deny that I was initially a little disappointed when I initially scanned through the finalists for the "Wedding DJ" and "Wedding Entertainment" of the year categories that I hadn't made it through to this stage, but it was simply amazing when I got tagged in a post from the organisers to say that I had made it through to a new category - "Outstanding wedding supplier of the year".
I think the name of this category alone states that I'm going to be up against some incredibly tough competition, but without your votes I wouldn't have made it this far - thank you!
Work has begun upgrading parts of the website, and there's some new services being added. One such service can be previewd at weddpic.com - and there'll be more info on this coming here soon!
As 2020 has been a rather quiet year for everyone in events and hospitality, fresh reviews of my services are in rather short supply. I'll be adding fresh content to my reviews page as this becomes available, so keep checking back regularly!
An error had appeared regarding the 'book now' and 'request further information' pages on the website. This resulted in some text on the from not being properly displayed on some desktop browsers.
This problem has hopefully been fixed, please let me know if you have any problems accessing this (or any other page) on your device.
During the second lockdown, work has commenced on upgrading major parts of the website, and bringing some fragmented areas back together.
I'm doing all of this myself, so if you spot any errors or have any ideas for improvements, do let me know!
